8:50 am Influencing the Influencers: Innovative High Tech Partner Programs
John DeSarbo, Vice President, MarketBridge
As the marketplace becomes increasingly complex, technology buyers are seeking guidance from trusted advisors when evaluating new technology solutions. While in the past, technology buyers were comfortable purchasing products and services directly from a vendor or traditional reseller, today they are first evaluating their options with third-party consultants, systems integrators, industry analysts, financial service providers and others. Recent research indicates that in some technology sectors, third-party “influencers” are involved in more than 50% of all transactions. To capitalize on this trend, industry leaders such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco and others are expanding their partner programs to include non-traditional business partners who recommend, but do not necessarily resell, technology solutions. In this session, we will discuss emerging best practices in this area and provide a practical approach to establishing a comprehensive influencer partner program.
