3, 2007--In a
move that could help open up stem cell research, the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office revoked key patents claimed by
James A. Thomson and the Wisconsin Alumni Research
Foundation. The decision is preliminary, but makes it much
more likely the patents will be narrowed or revoked.
