Reveo Throws Hat into $10M X PRIZE Genome-Sequencing Competition

May 3, 2007--Reveo, Inc. has entered the race to win the $10 million Archon X PRIZE for Genomics, to be awarded to the first team to develop a tool that can sequence 100 human genomes in ten days, for no more than $10,000 per genome, with 99.999% accuracy. Reveo’s competitors include VisiGen Biotechnologies, 454 Life Sciences, and the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution. Reveos Omni Molecular Recognizer Application (OmniMoRA) uses principles from semiconductor electronics and photonics, as opposed to indirect chemical methods used by existing sequencing instruments.
